Captain Francis Crozier and Cornelius Hickey from AMC’s The Terror, character studies for my daily practice, so I recently finished watching “The Terror” season 1 and I can’t help but wonder how on earth did I missed this gem when it originally aired, I love many shows but there’s only a small handful that have completely blown my mind and that I consider to be near perfect (Breaking Bad still sits atop of that list) and AMC’s The Terror is one of those. Beautiful cinematography, set and costume design, masterful sound design and top notch vfx, all work seamlessly to take you on board the HMS Erebus and the HMS Terror and their desperate attempt at immortality, and you can feel in your bones the bleakness and brutality of the merciless Arctic cold, but above all, is the superb writing and the truly impressive cornucopia of flawless master acting that does it for me, I’m a sucker for character driven pieces, and boy oh boy does this show has a robust array of complex, tridimensional and relatable characters, this two being my absolute favourite amongst the crew, I loved the parallels between this two deeply flawed, multilayered human beings, and I was completely invested in their inevitable collision course, their journey for glory and their ultimate descend into madness!!
In conclusion, I really fu***ng love this show and I think I’m gonna be obsessed about it for a long time !!!! @ Tsawwassen
