This weekend was another one for the books! Our Art of Birds Opening Reception brought out almost 150 people. Everything, minus the weather, was wonderful - from the delightful piano performance by Zack Mauno, to the variety of treats including some delicious creations by Michelle's Sweets & Treats and unique themed bird mocktails by Shooketh Bar Service.

On behalf of the Art of Birds Committee: Ann Black, Frankie O'Connor, Sue Gamble, Jamie Cowie, Kaitlyn McKay and June Simpson we are so appreciative of everyone's support of this exhibition and of the Museum.

If you weren't able to make the opening, don't worry - the display will be up in the Gallery until July 11th.

We want to send a sincere thank you to our jurors for taking time out of their busy schedules to help make this show something special - Frankie O'Connor, Pat Hacking and Melissa Laporte.

We also extend a heartwarming thank you to our sponsors:
The Rotary Club of Kirkland Lake, Shaba Testing Services Ltd., White River Refillery & Wildcraft Studio, Brokerlink, Kirkland Lake Arts Club, Gold Candle Ltd., and the Museum Auxiliary.

The OPHAT Board and Staff at the Museum of Northern History are so deeply appreciative for this donation from members of our community. The care and dedication you offer in supporting local organizations is appreciated more than you know.

Without the support of our community, we wouldn't be here! The stalwart encouragement of Kirkland Lakers means we get to continue offering arts & culture events and programming, being a tourism location for visitors to our community - all while being a safe haven for our local history.

Thank you! 🥰
