Knot & Char

Knot & Char Minimal. Natural. Burned by Hand. I'm Kim Campbell, a self-taught Canadian pyrography artist.

Knot & Char is where my love of woodgrain, texture, and illustration comes together with the warmth of pyrography. Every burn is crafted with care and detail, with the hope that it becomes someone’s favourite piece to gift or display.

I recently finished this serene moose scene, carefully wood-burned onto a beautiful piece of butternut measuring approximately 11" x 9".

This piece was commissioned by a client as a memorial gift for the family of a dear friend. We added a small plaque in the upper left corner featuring their friend's name along with the birth and passing dates, creating a lasting tribute to someone who was deeply loved.

It's a privilege to create artwork that helps preserve memories and celebrate a life well lived.

I've been busy lately finishing a commission piece and prepping for the next! I thought I'd share a sneak peek of a scene I'm currently working on. This isn't a commission piece but a first for me doing buildings and scenery.

I had a great day at the market on Saturday. Thanks for the support and encouragement! I said goodbye to these pieces along with a lot of trivets, coasters, bookmarks and a bit of copper jewelry. The Chipmunks were the first furry animals I burned, so a little bittersweet to say goodbye.

Stay tuned...new pieces are in progress.

Hey friends! 👋

I've not been posting lately because I've been doing a lot of prep for the upcoming market and I am working on another commission piece.

I'm planning to do a photo shoot of everything going to the market and will do a post. And, if I get something interesting to post before then, I will. Stay tuned!

Thanks for following and supposting me!
