Well… that’s a wrap on Kick & Push 2026 🧡

We’re still thinking about this one. So many shows, artists, audiences, late nights, big laughs, weird little moments, and memories we’re going to be carrying with us for a while.

A huge thank you to every artist who brought their work to the festival, every audience member who came out and supported them, and every volunteer, crew member, venue, collaborator, and friend who helped make it all happen.

Here are a few moments from the season that we’re especially happy to have captured. 💙

To our crew, thank you for everything you put into Kick & Push 2026. For the early mornings, late nights, last-minute changes, problem solving, and all the little things that most people never get to see.

You jumped in, helped each other out, and somehow kept everything moving when things got a little chaotic.

We really couldn’t have done it without you. 🫶

Some of the most exciting work happens when organizations make room for artists to try something new.🧡

A huge thank you to Parks Canada and Single Thread for partnering with The Kick & Push Festival this season and helping us create opportunities that stretched beyond the traditional theatre space.

From supporting artistic exploration to helping us bring ambitious ideas into new environments, your collaboration gave this season possibilities it simply would not have had otherwise.

Thank you to Theatre Kingston, Centre Culturel Frontenac, and SummerWorks for joining us as co-presenters during The Kick & Push Festival 2026.

Your collaboration helped us connect artists with Kingston audiences, bring work across communities, and create a Festival season strengthened by the knowledge, resources, and perspectives of organizations working alongside us.

There would be no K&P 2026 as we knew it without the Tett.🧡

For the sixth consecutive year, the Tett Centre for Creativity & Learning welcomed The Kick & Push Festival into its spaces. This summer, that relationship grew even further as the Tett became home to the full TK Fringe for the first time, welcoming 17 productions across two venues over 11 days.

For weeks, artists rehearsed, performed, experimented, crossed paths, and made work throughout the building while audiences returned again and again to see what was happening next.

Thank you to the entire Tett team for the space, trust, flexibility, and care you gave our artists, staff, and audiences throughout the season.

For helping us turn your gorgeous building by the water into a Festival home, thank you.💜

Thank you to the funders who helped make The Kick & Push Festival 2026 possible. 🧡

Support from the Government of Canada, Canadian Heritage, the Government of Ontario, the Ontario Arts Council, and Kingston Theatre Alliance helps create the conditions for artists to take risks, audiences to discover new work, and live performance to keep growing in Kingston and Southeastern Ontario.

From creation residencies and intimate performances to 11 days of TK Fringe, this season would not have been possible without that investment in artists, ideas, and our local performance community.

We are incredibly grateful for your support — and for another summer of making something unexpected together.

This season, Joe Pagnan spent dedicated time on Cedar Island through a K&P creation residency presented in partnership with Parks Canada. The residency offered space to explore ideas outside a conventional studio, allowing the island's landscape, history, and environment to become part of the creative process.

Joe’s time on Cedar Island was never intended to produce a predetermined outcome. Instead, it created room for experimentation, curiosity, and discovery — work that Joe will continue pursuing beyond their time on the island.

We are grateful to Joe for sharing part of that process with us and look forward to seeing where their continued exploration leads.
