Yesterday we began our first rehearsals for New Societies Online with the 國家兩廳院 NTCH
Brian Postalian and Howard Hopehedoesnt Dai are working together with an entirely new and Taiwanese local cast in to translate the show into Mandarin for audiences in Taipei!

Fun Fact: In Mandarin, New Societies is translated to “Ideal City” and Recurrent Theatre is “Upstream Troupe.”

After 22 days on the road this past July and August, we rolled in our 40th(!!) public presentation of New Societies. We've been so grateful for the people we met along the way who supported us and the vision of this project. Our ensemble of 11 artists visited cities many had never been to before and experienced parts of the country in a new light, emerging from a pandemic. 🌞

As we close this chapter of the show. We're beyond excited to begin rehearsing with the National Theatre and Concert Hall of Taipei next week as they adapt New Societies Online into Mandarin and present it with a new Taiwanese cast to audiences this Fall 🍁

"It's like no show I've ever experienced before"
