The Barefoot Players is a theatre troupe for young audiences based out of the Queen's University Dan School of Drama and Music.

We are sorry to announce that the Barefoot Players Camps and Shows will not be offered in spring/summer 2024. We are gathering our resources with plans to return in 2025.

If you're interested in theatre camp alternatives, we can highly recommend Thousand Island Playhouse and Blue Canoe Theatrical Productions Inc. summer camps. Additionally, ASUS runs camps on Queen's campus.

We will miss sharing our Theatre for Young Audience shows with the Kingston community, but we'll see you in 2025! 💙🦶

It has been one week since we have said goodbye to our campers from week four! 😭

The theme this week was 'Where Land Meets Sea" 🌊☀️ When the garbage fairy 🧚‍♀️(Kate AGAIN) starts putting garbage all over the world, land and sea creatures try to figure out the source of the garbage to save the world from ruin! 😱

We are really missing camp right now but we are super excited for next year! 😎

Week 3 of camp flew by! T'was a magical time in Theological Hall! 💙🦶

Our theme last week was "The Magic In You" 🪄🦄

When oogily boogily 👹 (Kate again) makes the world full of eternal darkness 🌑magical beings and magical creatures must work together to save the day! Through song and dance, the friends discovered the magic was in them all along! 🤩

Although we were sad to gay goodbye to our campers last week, we are so excited to work with our new friends who joined us today! 😎

Week two of Camp went amazing! 🦶💙

Our campers had a great time on their "Journey Through Time"

When a super evil mastermind (Kate) gets their hands on a time machine at Barefoot Labs they spill their mocha all over it! 😱 This causes the machine to malfunction causing lots of fun characters from the past to travel to the present! It also brings back a meteor...Through team work, singing ,and dancing the past and present friends save the world! 😎

We had such a great week last week and we are looking forward to this week with some new AND returning campers!

We had such a fun time with our 20 campers this week! The kids worked really hard creating the story and characters for...

"There's a Case Afoot!"

When all the animals in the world go missing 😱, our super secret international super spies and mega awesome detectives must work together try to and stop the evil doers at Barefoot Player Camp! 🤯

We had so much fun playing, signing, acting, and creating with our campers! Every single one of our campers showed us so much passion and desire for our show and for theatre. We are so incredibly proud of every single one of you!

OUR LAST PARK SHOWS ARE THIS WEEK! 😭

Come and check us out at Skeleton Park this Wednesday, July 12th and Friday, July 14th! On July 12, we have shows at 10 am and 2 pm! On July 14th, we have shows at 10 am and 12:15 pm (updated time to accommodate another event in the park!)

These are our last 4 shows before starting our SUPER COOL summer camp! 😎

ATTENTION! 🤩

The Barefoot Players will be at BUSKERS RENDEZVOUS this week! 😱

We have two shows TOMORROW - one at 11am on the Confederation Park Stage and the other at 2:15pm at the Sydenham Street Stage!

ON SATURDAY we have THREE shows! The first one at 11am on the Confederation Park Stage and the other two on the Sydenham Street Stage at 2:15pm and 5:15pm!

ON SUNDAY we have TWO more shows! Both on the Sydenham Street Stage at 12:15pm and 3:15pm!

ALSO if you are at Buskers Rendezvous this weekend make sure to vote the Barefoot Players for the people's choice award via a QR code or via ticket in the Buskers Rendezvous information package! 🦶💙

Week one (July 17th - 21st) : There's a Case Afoot (Ages 5-9)
Calling all detectives and super spies... There’s a Case Afoot! When something goes awry at Barefoot Player’s camp, we must work together, find clues, and defeat the odds to solve a mystery. Gather your gadgets and magnifying glasses and join the Barefoot Players on a high stakes mission that might just save the world!

Week two (July 17th - 21st) : Journey Through Time (Ages 9-12)
When a glitch causes people from the past to... Journey Through Time, things get crazy. What brings together cavemen, knights, hippies, and more? Find out with the Barefoot Players as visitors try to journey back through time after being brought to the present! Will they be able to return home?

Week three (July 31st - August 4th) : The Magic in You (Ages 5-9)
Have you ever wished for magical powers? Well we have! Join the Barefoot Players on an adventure to find magic as we travel though an enchanted realm, meet mystical characters, and gain magical powers! Join us to find... The Magic in You!

Week four (August 8th - 11th) : Where Land Meets Sea (Ages 5-9)
Land animals and sea creatures have always lived their lives separately from one another but what happens in the extraordinary place... Where Land Meets Sea. Together with the Barefoot Players, see what happens when nature comes together in perfect harmony.

Unfortunately we have to cancel our afternoon show at Kingston Art Fest due to the rain and risk of thunderstorm! 🌧

If you saw our show anytime during the festival this weekend we thank you and hope to see you again soon! 😎
