How Awesome is this !!!!! 2nd year coming to our Date Night Paint Night Beth and Scotty can now rise to the occasion and let go the urge or need to judge or control the moment, medium, outcome.

Beth accepted the challenge to paint 2 images on 2 smaller canvases in the 2+ hrs last evening Paint Night Touch the Magic While her other half did not belief she could achieve this creative feat, Beth did reign supreme.

Scotty on the other hand, decided to draw from the painting of the village on his mobile. His last comment was, "I like it better since I'm freer to do my own thing when I'm not staring at a 8x11 photocopy."

Therefore, his pause in the gap between painting and the phone, versus focus on a photo, allowed creative freedom, and, for a trained artist teacher w decades of teaching experience, this is sweet music to the ears...be present, let go judgment, risk-taking, play, be present, be kind and enjoy yourself.

Here's to exciting creative changes in the New Year!

Q. How did it go...when you painted on canvas from the tiny digital image on your phone, instead of the 10" x 11" print?

A. I may prefer it since I did not focus and try as much to 'copy' as I did with the printed image. I made choices regarding composition and colour, like leaving trees out of the background.
