Clay with Linda

Clay with Linda I’m a people person and love what I do! I am familiar with the many ways people learn and process information.

I have a Bachelor of Education degree with a specialty and experience in Special Education and have been a practicing professional potter teaching pottery for over 25 years. Teaching pottery is a pleasure for me… it’s not work. I have had the wonderful opportunity of teaching pottery to people from all walks and stages of life. I find it very rewarding to see people learn to handle clay in an accepting atmosphere of discovery.

The beginning of all art -
a light hand, a light heart

It’s totally absorbing learning an activity where you create something with your hands! Clay is so flexible and forgiving. Start with handbuilding and move on to the wheel, if and when you're ready.

IT STARTS WITH A PINCH

Six Queens graduate students formed their own group and just finished their first session of pottery classes. Here’s a photo of their first projects. Pinch pots. Learning through doing. Feeling how clay responds to touch when it’s thick or thin, when it’s wet or dry. So exciting for them to try something totally different from university studies where there are no exams. Self-expression, simply working with their hands.

Classes are small - maximum of 6 students. A 6-class session cost $140 which includes supplies. Next session of 6-weeks of classes starts the week of April 16. Beginners welcome !!

ONE-TIME POTTERY CLASSES with family and friends

Sophia and Charlotte made this pottery, while their grandmother Jill watched, in a special semi-private pottery class. They have been fired once and await glazing in a color of their choice before another firing. What a special momento of time spent with their grandmother while visiting Kingston!
Their pottery will end up being waterproof, oven and food safe.

$65/person for a one-time pottery class for 4 to 6 people.
Beginners welcome !
