Congratulations to Miss Keremeos Rodeo, Charlee Thomas being voted most sportsman like by Cactus Rose Barrel Productions!

MOST SPORTSMANLIKE🏅

I am aware I did not announce the recipient of the most sportsmanlike award donated by Diamond H Tack Inc. I didn’t have time to read through all the ballots before the awards on Sunday, and I wanted to say thank you to everybody who took the time to fill them out! It was wonderful to read about all the good that was being noticed around our races.

There are many people who deserve recognition for their willingness and positive attitudes at these events, but the 2026 Most Sportsmanlike award is in the name of Charlee Thomas!!
Charlee was not able to attend all of the races, however I think it was hard to miss the races she DID attend. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Charlee without a smile on her face, or not have a kind word or a hello for any child (or adult) who rode by her. Charlee went out of her way before her run to set third barrel in Keremeos until she had to get on her horse without being asked, and without recognition- but I noticed.
Charlee had to switch horses during the season, and still showed up with a positive attitude and smile on her face and from what I can tell, still had fun AND cheered on her fellow competitors.
Charlee- thank you for embodying what I envision Cactus Rose is about, and for your support this season! I hope to see your smiling face next year 💕

Miss Keremeos Rodeo, Charlee Thomas has a busy July attending the Canada Day parade in Osoyoos, the Pritchard Rodeo, the 2027 Penticton ambassador speech night, the Cactus Rose races, Vantage Trailers Grand Opening in Cawston, and the Frank Mantle Truck show! Stay tuned for another busy month in August!
