Toronto-based Iranian Canadian artist Raha Fard has been in residence at the Similkameen Artist Residency since July 1; we’re so fortunate to have spent time with her and to have learned about her practice. Please join us at the Penticton Art Gallery Tea Room this afternoon at 4pm, when Raha will provide a free artist talk to the public.

The Artists-In-Residence Talk series is a collaboration between the Penticton & District Community Arts Council, the Similkameen Artist Residency, and the Penticton Art Gallery. The talks take place in PAG’s Tea Room at 4pm every second Friday of the month, and feature a new artist each month.

Our summer artists-in-residence get to enjoy the beaches in the Okanagan; yesterday, we swam in Osoyoos Lake. We’re so grateful to spend time together in this beautiful region!

Today (May 10) is the last day to see Long-Term Artist in Residence Alexandra Bischoff’s exhibition “homesick” at the Penticton Art Gallery and the residency alumni’s exhibition “The Guest Book” at the Alternator (Kelowna).

Many thanks to the curatorial and administrative teams at both institutions for supporting the professional development of our artists in residence. 💐
