We know that there were some people who were disappointed that they could not attend the talk by Dr. Roberta Bondar on Friday. Dr. Bondar was generous enough to sign our remaining copies of her book! They are available at the Douglas Family Art Centre while supplies last.

It's Smile Cookie time! 😊🍪

We're happy to support this year's campaign knowing that proceeds are going to Triple PLAY Kenora, an amazing partner who supports youth programs right here at The Muse: Lake of the Woods Museum and Douglas Family Art Centre. Beyond just sport, Triple PLAY has been an amazing partner in helping to make arts, culture, and heritage programming available for youth in Kenora. We’re honoured to partner with an organization that shares our commitment to inspiring youth in our community.

Lake of the Woods Museum archivist Marcus Jeffrey will take you through the steps an artifact takes from donation to permanent collection. This session will also involve a tour of the normally unseen parts of the museum which houses over 140 years of this area’s history. You will learn archival techniques and given tips to keep your own important artifacts safe.

Saturday, April 25 - 11 am - Lake of the Woods Museum

Archival April - We are helping you think like a museum archivist as you plan and prepare to deal with your own or someone else’s “stuff”. This can be a daunting task that can become overwhelming, but with some guidance it could be a positive experience. These sessions will give guidelines and useful information to preserve family history, make ‘after death’ cleaning less stressful, and see first hand how the museum handles their own stuff.
