Setting aside your ego and admitting that you know absolutely nothing is the hardest thing to do these days. AI isn’t your perfect answer, and being picky or getting what your friend told you to get is not the most ideal way to purchase things.

Samba in Kelowna, BC! I was honoured to be invited to participate in this premier samba group. It’s so much fun and the weekly classes are open to everyone.

I’m so incredibly proud of my wonderful students and how far they’ve come in only 8 classes! Most had never even held drum sticks before let alone be familiar with Samba. It’s been such a joy for me to teach this beautiful rhythm and pass on what I’ve learned over the past 20+ years. I continue to love every second of the journey that samba takes me on. The best part of all is the amazing community it creates. Fé no Samba!

Jam Session Mastery: The Art of Improvisation is an engaging 4-hour workshop led by
professional musicians, designed to help players of all levels feel more confident and at ease in
jam session settings. Through hands-on exercises, guided practice, and real-time collaboration,
participants will learn essential improvisation techniques, how to listen and respond musically,
and strategies for joining and contributing to group performances. Whether you’re new to
jamming or looking to refine your skills, this workshop provides practical tools and a supportive
environment to build confidence, creativity, and connection through music.

I heard once that the Drummer is the unmentioned band leader. On stage communication! Make it easy for anyone to sub or jam with you and feel like there’s direction. Repeat parts and communicate starts/stops with nuanced motions. It’s a skill that will elevate your importance in any musical project.
