Behind the scenes!.. Taking something old, and making it something new.
Not all decor has to be its original purpose.
A red truck we’ve used several times, became Mater from Cars for the Piston Cup display this year.
Eyes and mouth made with Dollarama poster board, acrylic markers, and packing tape.
Plus the two poles that hold up the race flags behind McQueen are repurposed Curtain Rods.

I get asked sometimes what is my favorite decoration in my display.
My answer will always stay the same.. the simple wooden dear on a stake.
It’s the first decoration I bought my dad for his display. I purchased it at an RIH craft fair. When he passed, I inherited it back and it has become a staple of my display from Year 1.
Now he stays at the back of the display watching over everything.
