🎊 🎟️ R-A-F-F-L-E 🎟️ 🎊

This is the ONLY beaded canvas I have available, and may be the only one of the summer. I had numerous inquiries to purchase this piece after I posted progress pictures but since I am not setting up for Pow Wow this year I thought that giving everyone a chance to own it would be the fairest option.

Details:
This honeycomb shaped canvas measures 12” across and 10.5” in height, is painted with a shimmery gold acrylic paint and is beaded with size 11 and 15 seed beads, glass accent beads, and bugle beads for the honeycomb. It is backed in printed calico fabric, and has a metal hook for easy hanging.

Sharing photos of gifts made with love and appreciation for teachers and classmates that have made an everlasting impact on my life.

Missing photos of the cutest little floral wampum earrings (same floral as on the pictured canvas) and sweetgrass corn that I forgot to get pictures of before wrapping up.

‼️POW WOW UPDATE ‼️
It is with mixed emotions that I share with you that I will not be be setting up at this year’s Kahnawà:ke Pow Wow.

I made the difficult decision after spending some time reflecting on the past several months. Being in a Kanien’kéha adult immersion program has been just as challenging as it has been rewarding. A lot of my time has been happily dedicated to my studies, meaning less time has been devoted to beadwork since the start of this school year in September 2025. Then in January I was hit with grief after the passing of my father and the emotional rollercoaster of that experience weakened my motivation and creativity to bead. I have just recently returned to beading, and I am working on beading with love and making gifts for some very special people in my life, which accompanied by the continued demands of wrapping up my 2 year language program, has left little time for “Candace’s Canvases”. So rather than fight nature and try to push through and stress bead for pow wow, I have instead chosen self-care and leisure beading for the time being.

Depending on how much beading takes place over the summer, I may have a small sale in the fall time or I may sporadically post things for sale along the way. So keep an eye out for that.

Niá:wen/Thank You for your continued support ❤️

A colour palette inspired by raspberries, a mix of soft and bold to reflect femininity, gentle strength, and perseverance. Paired with honeycomb and bees (not pictured) to represent the bee’s continued dedication to pollenating our plant life and ensuring continued sustenance.

I started this piece in the winter, my first canvas since the start of the school year, as my language learning journey has required a shift in priority from beading to studying. In January, grief was added to the mix and my motivation to bead was nearly non-existent, as it particularly impacted my motivation and creativity. I did find some pleasure in beading special gifts for special people in my life though. But still, finding time to bead when I’m in a good head space and feeling my best to put good energy into my work has still been challenging. My beading mojo was at an all time high this weekend and I took full advantage of it, completing more than half of this piece! Hopefully it’s the start of more beading to come 🤞🏼

I’m back to beading 🙌🏽 still not on canvas yet, as I’m working on some special gifts first. On the beading table are some earth tones that I’m actually really diggin’! 💚 🤎

My beading mojo and creativity has been low, maybe non existent, so I was thankful to pick up this earring template from Traditions because it took the guess work out of getting started, then I just tweaked it to make it my own as I went along.
Sometimes making smaller projects to start helps me get back into it. I’m hoping my creativity will finally get out onto canvas soon

I’m getting a late start to beading this year so I’d like to try and focus on creating for demand.

*everyone who offers input will be entered into a small giveaway draw 😊*
