Tucked away along the shores of Maligne Lake is the Hidden Cove - Jasper’s newest campground for a backcountry paddling adventure. Accessible to canoeists and kayakers, this route is about 3.5 kilometers along the protected shoreline waters. Camping in the Hidden Cove is limited to two nights and requires a camping pass. Depending on the weather, experience level, total weight in the boat, type of watercraft and physical condition, it can take 45 minutes to 2 hours to get to the campground. The winds change rapidly on the lake, creating large waves, which make it difficult to paddle in bad weather. If you get stranded in the Hidden Cove, you can hide from the rain in the wooden shelter. This site is not easy to reserve, but you can book it by calling 1-877-RESERVE (1-877-737-3783) starting in February.

With its volcanic islands, rugged shorelines, ancient Greek ruins, wild inland mountains, and brilliant blue-green waters, Sicily offers some of the most dramatic coastal landscapes on earth, along with a slew of gorgeous trails. Our adventures included a breathtaking hike on Mt. Etna, stunning Greek temples of Segesta and Agrigento, archaeological park of Selinunte, ancient ruins in Taormina, hikes through vineyards and many excursions through Roman, Greek and Byzantine mosaics. Whether you’re looking for a few days of hiking or a whole vacation’s worth of walking, you’ll find it here. To avoid heat, crowds and high prices, come in spring (April–June).

When you enter Zion National Park you will experience an emotion that won’t fit inside your mind or your camera, but your heart will understand. Zion will change you. The colors will mesmerize you. The immensity will leave you speechless. Some of the park’s most theatrical canyons are accessible to hikers or visible from high-country viewpoints, while others lie deep in the back-country. A hike thorough the Zion River Narrows at the Temple of Sinawava will take you to the soul of the park. Surrounded by the giant and narrow walls of sandstone, wading through icy waters of the Virgin River requires a stick. After a few miles its gets cold and you may want to take a break to dry out and warm up in the sun.

Utah’s smallest national park, Bryce packs the most visual punch with orange sets of otherworldly rock formations in high-mountain desert. No other place in Utah compares in awe to the breathtaking amphitheater of Bryce Canyon.
