Inuuqatik Highlight 🌸Juliet🌸

Juliet is a Youth throatsinger whom proudly and exquisitely shows her talents alongside her peers and most importantly her mother.
As a member of the Tunngasugit Throatsingers
Juliet showcases throatsinging with the troupe at all sorts of events and gatherings. Truly an inspiration for all.

Throatsinging, along with all other aspects of Inuit culture was banned and criminalized during recent history. The strength and love of camunity and culture won't let it due out.
Qujanamiik Tunngasugit for providing space and time for healing, connection, and revitalization.

Juliet fashions:
Seal skin qaurutik that is beaded, by her Anaanakulluk Aleatra.

PTP MotherHubberd style atigi made of linen fabric and ricrac. I ensured to add a nice deep pocket, with a sailor style neck detail.

PTP would love to feature any clients / fellow Inuuqatik who are involved in anyway, big or small, that contributes to cultural revitalization.

As i wore my attiq Aksakaaq's walrus ivory ring I had to great privilege of tattooing my relative Chantal her first ever tattoo.
Yesterday I landed in Igloolik.
Though I am here to mourn and grieve my panik Sara Alakaan, there is still so much space for love and joy with all my family members here in Igloolik.
Sighagiktuk is where my Anaanastiaq grew up, being their summer location.
It was a great privilege to do the darling little design of hers while surrounded with family and sila ❀️

Yesterday was the annual Aboriginal Awareness Week Calgary Family Day powwow, and it was absolutely amazing at the Inuit booth!
Qujanamiimarialuk Elder Doreen Williams and Inuk chair Susan Baines dor having me!

This year is was Elder Frank, Susan, and myself representing Inuit in Grand Entery. ( 4th image)

At the booth was the 3 of us in the second image
Susan, Tobey, and I. So lovely meeting our Inuit games expert, Tobey. Dream team!
In the 5th photo you can see Susan adorned in her amautingauq I helped her make, it took us over 12 hours! To her left is her Panik, using her Attak's hand me down, and to her right there's her Irnik using the Atigi I sewn him fast out of the same fabric used as Susan's inner lining.

Jessica brought her little bundle of joy, Sabine. I made Susan stop what she was doing to help me pack the little 2 month old.

Sound is always interesting, some throatsongs are perfect in that arbor, but others travel funny and I cant hear the loops as much, nonetheless its always a huge honnor to throatsing, ingiuq, and qilaujjaq. As well as volunteer at the Inuit booth.
Might post some more, I dont think ill be able to help myself πŸ’–

Lets all remember to let our inner child thrive in our day to day lives. Do what would make little you prosper.
This little hand pulled at my heart strings making me reminisce my time working at Tummikuluit Saipaaqivik as well as all my time with my bonus nieces' and nephews'. Aswell as giving me flashes of carrying my Nuka and younger cousins in the amautik when I was in elementary school.
