Today PTP recognizes and CELEBRATES 2SLGBTQIA+.
In doing so I have designed a symbol for Sipiniq Inuit.
Sipiniq is the 3rd gender with Inuit.
My Anaanakulluk has explained to me that I am Sipiniq. So the subject is very personal.

While on the subject I also wanted to bring to light the difference of Sipiniq and 2Spirit.
Sipiniq is " the 3rd gender" and 2Spirit being interpreted into "Allait uqrausingat" ( Naitives' word) and when explained in further detail is explained as "arnailinnigajuq/angutailinngajuq".
2Spirit having both masculine and feminine spirits.

I am Sipiniq,
but if we are counting, I have 4 female spirits i am named after, and 1 male.
I have my own spirit, it is Sipiniq, the 3rd Gender.
The sipiniq spirit is my own, and mixes with all 5 of my name sakes. Reincarnationing all ancestors I am named after. Making up who I am.

This day is about honouring and uplifting Sipiniq, Two Spirit , and Indigenous LGBTQIA+ community members, past and present.
Recognizing the roles they have always held within our cultures and communities.

Today I recognize my late brother Joshua Ipeelie Komangapik. He is now one of the grandfather's.

Interpretation: Sophie, I'm tired

What drove me to draw this 1 is the Qullik ( hearth of our dwellings) where always lit a tiny bit for the night. Balancing not drain too much oil and producing just enough heat to maintain til morning.
The steady little flame on just a little bit while everyone sleeps. Remind you of anyone?

( What better fitting song, then 1 made in my grandpa's honor. Made by Riit, my mothers youngst sister )

Inspired by my late grandpa Michael Murphy's love for St. Patrick's day, as well as his love for his 3 daughter's. All beautiful Inuk x Irish women. My mother being 1 of them.

My mother is also a heavy influence in this design. Very much a woman who walked the Inuk life, but keeping her Irish harritage near. Siobhan's pride in her life being her 3 paniit.

Celtic knots etched onto a gold Ulluk. Each representing parent linked to their 3 daughters.

• I am in mourning. So my heart and attention has turned to comfort movies.
1 of which being " Howl's Moving Castle " .
A 2004 film exquisitely put together by Studio Ghibli.
Calcifer's little flame has always brought a warmth in the darkest of times for me; Along with all other characters by Studio Ghibli.
The predictability of watching a show over and over allows ones brain to fully relax. The familiarity, and predictability so delicious for our delicate minds.

It was an honor to hop on this gig last minute with my longest time throatsinging partner Mary Itorcheak. We have been throatsinging partners for about 15 years now, and to be able to katajjaq with her is truly heart medicine. I always feel complete when throatsinging with you Loves. Qujanamiimarialuk.

Today was such a good day to tattoo a fellow Iqalungmiutaksajaq. Qujanamiikuluk for the trust and time together. We had the best giggles that grew into laughter as we got to know eachother more. I am so grateful you trusted me with your first kakiniit and also for trusting me to document their meanings onto your hands. Safest travels back home! I feel so lucky to have had our time together while you were here in Alberta. Upigivagit! Takulaalirivugut, qangaaluktauk.
