Alli and Teddy are growing so fast, and watching them thrive reminds us every day why we do what we do. Discovery Wildlife Park provides a forever home for wildlife in need, and we are proud to be a voice for animals who cannot speak for themselves.

We’re deeply passionate about conservation and education — but we’re also passionate about joy. We never know what someone else is going through, and we hope our videos and photos bring a little light into your day. This park is truly our happy place, and we’re honoured to care for these beautiful creatures every single day.

✨ Happy New Year from all of us at the park! ✨

Today felt extra special — our big boy Bos decided to wake up for a little New Year’s stretch and sunshine. Even though he’s still deep in his winter sleep, moments like this remind us just how incredible bears truly are.

A lot of people don’t realize that bears don’t sleep straight through the winter. They’ll sometimes wake up to shift around, stretch, soak up a bit of sun, and then tuck themselves right back into their cozy dens. It’s completely normal, and it’s one of the many amazing adaptations that help them conserve energy through the cold months.

Seeing Bos greet 2026 with us — even briefly — feels like a good omen for the year ahead. We’re grateful for him, grateful for the work we get to do, and grateful for all of you who support the animals and our park every single day.

Here’s to a year filled with connection, learning, and moments of unexpected joy… just like today.
