A quick note on our 50/50 draw

We've had a few calls asking about our 50/50 raffle this year, so we wanted to share the full story here for everyone.

Why did we move away from the old way to RaffleBox?

We want everyone buying a 50/50 ticket to do so with total confidence knowing it is handled securely and in line with AGLC rules. That's why we switched to RaffleBox which is one of the most well known Raffle Platforms; https://rafflebox.ca/, an AGLC-approved electronic raffle system. The change followed complaints after a previous event, when a couple of our younger volunteers were noticed accidentally handling the odd raffle ticket; a clear breach of AGLC regulations. We took that seriously, consulted with AGLC, and made the switch with the full backing of AGLC, to ensure full compliance and community trust.

This was year two on RaffleBox. Year one had some growing pains for sure, but this year blew our socks off; thank you for the incredible support! Proceeds go directly to local 4-H groups, minor sports clubs who help us so much, the High River Community Cancer Centre, and Wild Rose Community Connections.

Why did the draw happen on Sunday morning rather than after the final race this weekend?

It came down to our AGLC licence. When you apply, you set a total ticket value tier and price points up front (like 20-for-$20). We sold out our approved tiers late on Saturday, so the draw had to happen then rather than running into day four. We were blown away by the support, especially compared to last year, and ao we will apply for the higher licence tier next year to allow for more of those popular tiers.

One thing we can not decide on is whether the ONE BIG JACKPOT over the weekend worked best (next year we will have the bigger license and go all the way through to Sunday evening) or did people prefer smaller jackpots drawn each night?

Last night, we were honored to pay tribute to Tom Glass; a true legend of the Chuckwagon world, with a Tarp presentation to the Glass family. Tom will be very much missed, and our thoughts remain with his family.

The crowd was then treated to the 5Land Mini Chuckwagons, our incredible opening feature each night, and the Flying Cross Jockey Club with their amazing dashes.

Excitedly, our 50/50 was so successful we unexpectedly hit our license ceiling! Rafflebox's Random Number Generator completed the draw this morning, and we are pleased to announce the winning ticket: D-10451! Our winner has already been contacted and congratulations on taking home a jackpot of $8,230!

🏁 Day 4 - The Final Day! Start time 4pm
We are gearing up for the fourth and final day of racing, the perfect send-off to an awesome weekend.

The 5Land Minis are back before and after the main Chuckwagon races, and the racing is set to be as exciting as ever! After the races, don't miss the Dash for Cash Soapbox Challenge, featuring winners from yesterday's heats at the Stampede Breakfast - watch these teams race for the top spot.

4:00pm – Opening Ceremony and Main Chuckwagon Races
Straight after the Heats end – 5Land Minis, Dash for Cash Soapbox Challenge, Wildrose Gift Basket draw (for Food Bank Van donors), and Buckle Presentations to the Battle of the Foothills Champions
Covered Grandstand is sold out again, but West & East Bleachers, standing room, and Beer Garden space are still available!

NIGHT THREE IS HERE!

Another incredible night of Chuckwagon racing kicks off tonight at the Battle of the Foothills here in High River!

Covered grandstand is sold out; but we've still got tickets available at the gate for bleachers, standing, and the beer garden 🙌

And don't forget the Cabaret will start up as soon as the Racing stops tonight 🙌 Tacoma are playing and admission is free for anyone (over 18) who joined us at the Races!

Ticket Pricing Glitch on Saturday unassigned Bleacher Tickets – Now Fixed!

We recently discovered a glitch in our ticketing system that was over-charging for the Saturday only East and West Bleacher tickets; these are our unassigned, uncovered bleacher seats, which should only ever be $21.50 (incl. fees) at the online advance price.

The glitch is now fixed ✅

If you bought Saturday East or West Bleacher uncovered, unassigned tickets online at $36, contact us and we'll refund your order so you can repurchase at the correct price.

That's more money back in your pocket to spend at our fabulous food trucks, vendors, and beer gardens (18+)

Don't forget we ONLY sell our tickets at https://tickets.highriverag.com/ or through us here in office. Do not be tricked by any of the scam sites out there - we do not use "Go tickets" or anyone else. We are just two weeks out and Wagons start rolling at 7:00pm on July 23rd, with racing through to July 26th in High River.
