We are thrilled to welcome Julie Jackson to the High Prairie and District Museum as this month's feature artist.
Julie is a Northern Alberta watercolor artist whose work is inspired by the landscapes, wildlife, florals, historic buildings, and everyday scenes that surround her. Primarily self-taught, she has spent more than 40 years developing her artistic skills through workshops and exploration of various mediums, including drawing, pen and ink, pastel, oil, and porcelain painting. Through her watercolors, Julie strives to capture moments that transport viewers to a positive, peaceful, and reflective place. Her artistic journey continues to evolve as she discovers new ways of seeing and interpreting the world around her.
We invite you to come down to the museum to see a curated selection of her works for in the museum's lobby, as well as art cards and prints available in the shop. Julie is delighted to be joining us on October 17 for a live painting demonstration from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
