What a delightful afternoon! ☕🌿

Last Sunday, members gathered for our President’s Tea, hosted by our President, Mary Anne Grant, at Karen’s lovely home. Under picture-perfect weather, old friends reconnected and new members were warmly welcomed into the fold.

Surrounded by Karen’s stunning garden, delicious refreshments, and inspiring conversation, it was the perfect setting to relax, unwind, and celebrate our wonderful community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, to Mary Anne Grant for bringing us together, and a special thank you to Karen for opening her beautiful home and garden to WAAH!

Reflecting on an incredible evening of art, history, and community! ✨

We recently gathered for Women at the Fore: The Women’s Art Association of Hamilton and the AGH—a truly engaging conversation exploring the enduring, 132-year relationship between WAAH and the Art Gallery of Hamilton.

Attendees enjoyed a fascinating presentation and slideshow by AGH Chief Curator Tobi Bruce, followed by an insightful in-conversation with WAAH Past President Karen Logan. Together, they traced our historic role in shaping the AGH from its very beginnings—through early fundraising, significant donations, and tireless advocacy for women artists.

Some highlights included:
Stunning works acquired through WAAH support
Celebrated WAAH artists featured in the permanent collection
The incredible legacy of the Clara Galbreaith donation

More than just a look back, the discussion focused on the present and future of our organization. It was a beautiful opportunity to reflect on the evolving meaning of membership and the lasting power of women’s artistic networks in shaping public institutions.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to this timely, inspiring conversation!
