First time hitting up in years and I gotta say, I had a good time. I mostly just walked around taking portraits of people I know but also some random stuff as well. Here’s a selection. Turn your phone sideways for the landscape pics ⤵️

Shot on Kodak P3200 Tmax (very grainy) and Tri-x 400 (much better imo)

Were you at the show? What did you think?

Battle Royale on This 100+ year old design remains one of the most iconic designs and encapsulates everything powerful about traditional tattooing.

Mostly healed and settled in here, just added some final touches we didn’t get around to last year.

I really wanted to try my hand at printing some cyanotypes. The more technology progresses around us the greater the urge I feel to try and stay in touch with more analog methods of creating art. Anyone else feeling the same?

Full disclosure, I did use my tablet to prep the initial image but spending a sunny afternoon exposing and rinsing pieces of paper was extremely satisfying.

I really wanted to try my hand at cyanotype printing and this is what I ended up with! Not bad for a first try.

Wrapped up Kevin’s back recently. Seems like even traditional tattooing has fractured into countless sub genres but I still like doing things the old fashioned way. A strong but not over powering line, a couple classic colours and a clear, simple design that you can read from a block away.

Blackout sleeve on .baileyy taken on 35mm film. I know there are differing opinions on blackwork like this, but I find it to be a very satisfying challenge to pull off effectively. This is covering a pretty dense collection of tattoos on the lower forearm and a few smaller ones on the upper arm. There were two we kept because they were decent and didn’t interfere with the flow.

The upper arm was left blank as to more easily balance it with her other sleeve which has lots of room around the shoulder as well. The V border at the top plays into this and gives it a more feminine look. I find putting thought and planning into someone’s overall tattoo collection almost always ends up with a more interesting design.
