Yet after reading about staged readings and their role in play development, I hit a roadblock. I couldn’t come up with a definition that addressed every possible scenario. More vexingly, I couldn’t figure out how to negotiate concrete meanings for words like “minimal” and “basic” that are often used…

Great Stratford Festival news about productions for Canadian playwrights John Mighton ("Possible Worlds") and Kate Hennig ("The Last Wife") as well as the awesome Jillian Keiley returning to direct "The Diary of Anne Frank".

Hamlet, The Diary of Anne Frank and The Sound of Music are among the productions heading to the Stratford Festival next year.

BRILLIANT. “What are you making?” director Robert Woodruff asks when greeting a fellow artist. Not “What are you doing?” or, “What’s your next gig?” but, “What are you making?”

Cultivating Artistic CuriosityLisa Portes July 22, 2014 As part of the Café Onda soft launch this summer, we asked five authors from different places in the generational map, at different stages of their career, to open their hearts and their minds for us to reflect on their experience at the 2014 T…

We want to thank everyone at the Hamilton Fringe Festival - audiences, staff and volunteers - for all of their support and attention in making this year's Festival such a great success and experience for the cast/crew of "The Conspiracy of Michael".

Also a huge round of applause for our fellow artists with whom we shared the stage, shared a drink and shared the applause from all those who came out to see us work.

Finally, an extra special thank-you to David Brace at B contemporary gallery. Reaching Symmetry Theatre couldn't done this without you having our backs.

See everyone next year on the Fringe!

GREAT review by Ryan McGreal at Raise the Hammer. "This play starts with wide-open potential and then turns around an ever-shrinking radius as it progresses toward a deeply personal conclusion."

This short, thought-provoking play starts with Michael (Stephen Near) dictating a paranoid worldview into a recording device to be played back by Lily. He describes a state-run education system that takes the wide-open possibilities of childhood and systematically ratchets them down to a single righ…

We are in b contemporary tonight for our final rehearsal of "The Conspiracy of Michael". Lots of positive feedback about our Preview at last night's Hamilton Fringe Festival Kick-Off. Want more on conspiracy theories? Chew on this little gem :)

It's time to take conspiracy theorists seriously, but not for the reasons they want us to.

THREE DAYS until "The Conspiracy of Michael" opens at b contemporary gallery as part of the Hamilton Fringe Festival Gallery Mini-Series. Only 20 seats per show in this intimate show about conspiracies and two siblings struggling to reconnect. "It's all true..."

Food for (Fringe) thought.

Food for (Fringe) thought.

Perhaps the greatest thing about the festival is that anyone who can pay the relatively cheap entrance fee gets a slot
