In grade school it started with threads that my Yiayia gave me left over from her sewing. i used to make basic chevron patterns with all her unique colours she had from Cyprus. Every spring I would start making them again for a couple months at least. In high school i started to take it a bit more seriously. I would make frequent visits to Walmart and Michael's craft store, and buy as many differe
nt colours and tones of thread as I possibly could. I would make bracelets in class and on my lunch break. But it all got put aside during grade 12 when I needed to focus on my university marks. When 1st year University came, i lived in residence alone, so I would take the subway during the evening to The Toronto H**p Company, and i bought some spools out of curiosity. I thought it would be interesting to make thicker bracelets. i bought one giant spool of the Tan colour and took it back to my dorm room. I would stay up til 4am many nights in a row with my music on and just weaving away. It's therapeutic for me and helped while being homesick. I continued to go back to THC and started expanding my colours, eventually having all 6 colours of the rainbow plus Tan and Black. i was content until i discovered etsy and all the beautiful colour possibilities. Now I am a 4th Year University Student, struggling to make ends meet. I make bracelets as extra income. It's still therapeutic for me, and I find it very rewarding when i make bracelets for people to their specifications, because I want to make every bracelet unique and custom fit. Currently, i make so many bracelets for my friends, that as soon as i make one, it is sold within the next few days, and i don't have much time to put it online. The ones in my shop are just ideas of what i have made, and please feel free to message me with any order if you want certain colours, lengths or patterns. i highly encourage it!
