When should my child start dance? 💭
The answer might be simpler than you think — whenever they’re ready!
Whether they’re 18 months old or 13+, there’s something to gain from starting dance at every age. Swipe through to see what classes can look like at each stage. ❤️
18 months–2 years | Tot Recreational Classes 🤍
At this age, dance is all about exploring! Through music, movement and play, little ones can build confidence, coordination and independence while getting comfortable in a class environment.
There’s no pressure to “learn to dance” yet — just a fun, positive first experience!
Ages 3–4 | Preprimary Recreational Classes✨
At 3–4, dancers begin learning the basics while still keeping class fun, creative and age appropriate! They’ll work on coordination, musicality, classroom independence and introductory dance skills.
And if they’ve never danced before? That’s exactly what beginner classes are for. 🤍
Ages 5–6 | Primary Recreational Classes❤️
This is a great age to begin developing strong dance foundations! Dancers work on technique, coordination, flexibility, musicality and confidence while continuing to discover their own love of dance.
No previous experience is needed to get started!
Ages 7–9 | Junior Recreational Classes✨
At this age, dancers can start building a stronger understanding of technique while developing strength, flexibility, performance skills and musicality.
Starting at 7, 8 or 9 doesn’t mean they’re behind — there is still SO much time to learn, grow and find the styles they love.
Ages 10–12 | Intermediate Recreational Classes❤️
Pr***en dancers are ready to challenge themselves, learn new skills and develop their own style as a dancer. Classes can build technique, strength, flexibility, musicality and performance quality — all while creating friendships and confidence along the way.
And yes, 10–12 is absolutely still a great age to start dance!
Ages 13+ | Teen Recreational Classes✨
Whether they’ve danced since they were little or are stepping into a studio for the very first time, there’s a place for them in dance.
Teen classes give dancers the opportunity to learn, challenge themselves, express themselves and discov
