Thank you!🙏🏻
Thank you to those who juried my work into the show, who work to organize it, to the volunteers who were very helpful and cheerful, for the live music, for the waffle sandwiches and chocolate from booth mates! Thank you to the jurors, artists and art lovers who took the time to introduce themselves in person and shared their support.
Special thank you to the young lady (12 year old) who was at the show to begin her own collection. I am honoured that you chose a piece of my work as your favorite in show to kick off what I’m know will be a lifetime of Art appreciation🎨

I am excited to announce that my newest painting titled, ‘Vivacity’, is now on exhibit as part of the 2023 Online Federation Showcase. Hosted by the Federation of Canadian Artists, this is an online-only exhibition that highlights the diverse range of work being created by member artists! This is a great opportunity for collectors to see works from artists across Canada. Featuring both two dimensional and sculpture works, you'll see a beautiful collection of pieces.

Abstract art is a form of visual art that diverges from the conventional mode of representing a visual reality. Instead of attempting to depict objects and scenes accurately, abstract art employs shapes, colors, forms, and gestural marks to create its effect. This departure from the representational art form has led to abstract art being sometimes referred to as non-representational art. Abstract art offers a unique voice that allows both artists and viewers the freedom to express themselves in ways that are not bound by the limitations of realism.

Despite its seemingly chaotic and spontaneous appearance, abstract art is based on a specific structure that comprises six critical elements: color, shape, form, texture, line, and value. These elements provide the necessary framework for artists to create works that are not only visually appealing but also communicate emotions and ideas that are not possible through realistic art forms. Admirers and collectors of abstract art are often drawn to the emotional response or connection they feel with the colors, forms, and textures of the artwork, which can have a powerful impact on the mood and atmosphere of a living space.

Historians agree that the first abstract painting was created by Wassily Kandinsky in 1910. His work, Untitled (First Abstract Watercolor), marked a significant departure from the traditional representational art form and paved the way for the development of abstract art. Since then, abstract art has evolved into a diverse and vibrant art form that continues to push boundaries and challenge perceptions of what art can be.

While I love countless abstract artists, a few of the classics I am drawn to include Georgia O'Keeffe, Mark Rothko and Jackson Po***ck. What abstract artists or paintings whisper to your soul?
