We are thrilled to announce the representation of Supriya James’ .james remarkable painting practice. James is a Toronto based contemporary landscape artist of Indo-Guyanese heritage.

“I see the world with a heightened sense of colour and react to it with raw emotion. The words of French painter, Eugene Delacroix resonate strongly within me and guide my creative compass: ‘Nature is a dictionary; one draws words from it’.”

James’ practice is driven by the energy she derives from the Canadian Shield, in particular Georgian Bay, Ontario and a myriad of international landscapes from the Caribbean and Europe. She explores themes of ancestral history, memory and magic in landscape.

James is pursuing her MFA in art, media and design at beginning September of 2025.

Inspired by our recent pop into the studio of the remarkably talented Canadian painter, Mike Smalley .

Smalley celebrates “figments of imagination” laced through landscapes that feel at once familiar and emotive.

A pair of Marsha Strycharz’s exquisite still lives are available through Art Sales + Services for purchase or rental.

Inspired by the still life paintings of the 17th century Dutch Golden Age Masters and Hyperrealism, Strycharz creates luminously detailed paintings of common objects. Though simple in composition and subject matter, the stillness and quietude of her still life works offer a deeper emotional experience than what initially, visually meets the eye.

Marsha Strycharz, “Grey White and Blue” and “White and Gold”, oil on canvas, 18x24 inches each.

Ethel Voronkova’s stunning piece “Begin the Climb” creates a remarkable focal point in our collector’s Hamilton home.

Influenced by the work of Helen Frakenthaler, Voronkova has adopted a soak-stain technique into the creative process of her most recent series of paintings. Working on raw canvas, she layers colour onto the unprimed surface areas and deliberately leaves sections of this underpainting exposed to add warmth, depth, and a sense of looseness to her compositions.

Stop by the AGH or tap the link in our bio to view + collect all available works by Voronkova.
