I delivered this completed piece, "Maligne Moment", to the purchasers a few days ago and they they were very pleased. The lovely young couple who bought it, sent me a photo of it hanging above their bed and it looked wonderful! Very happy how this turned out.

Couple more progressive photos...good thing the buyers are willing to wait, since a lot of my time right now is taken up harvesting and preserving berries and vegetables from the garden, in some form or other...dying to get back at this piece!!!

Thought I would post the process photos of a painting I have been commissioned to paint...one of the most photographed lakes in Canada - Maligne Lake, Jasper. Here are a couple of the first steps on the 60" wide by 20" high canvas.

Many older pieces of art went to new homes after my Fire Sale in Lacombe. I am so pleased that they will hang in someone's house, and hopefully provided some pleasure there. Out of 54 pieces, 29 pieces of work went out the door to new homes. Thank you all that purchased them!

I have been busy with garden so far and that will continue for a couple months yet ( winter provisions, you know), but I have also been collecting more photos for reference for paintings. I have have decided to focus on working on small series again, as it keeps my focus on solving some problems as I work through the 5 or 6 similar pieces. Been successful and well received in the past, so I plan on working that way again. I have also been commissioned to do the lovely piece for a couple in Calgary, so I hope to get at that work very soon...I am itching to paint something, for sure!!!!

As well, I have committed to instructing a one day pastel workshop for the Lacombe Art Guild on November 9, 2025. I will be mentally and physically planning the agenda for that over the next few months. AND....I am working with the Lacombe Performing Arts Centre to set up a 4 to 6 week (once a week) pastel course this fall with them as well. It will allow me to delve more deeply into one or two things each session to focus on. Quite excited to do these things and once again...a little nervous and scared about making them something that participants will enjoy and actually get something out of. That is the most important part to me...

Recent pastel of creek, sun set through trees and re-touched and improved falls. I am going to have to start framing these pieces as I am running out of room for them. Just need to find a place to hold a show and sale sometime in the near future. If anyone knows a place, please let me know!
