“I’m excited to share some new music with folks. I’ll be playing some new compositions, works in progress and and improvisations as well as some music from previous shows and records of mine. Expect dreamy ambient worlds, solo piano music, and some forays into electronic rhythms and tones. This live music project is something I’ve been dreaming about for quite some time, and starting with a free outdoor concert at the Parrsboro Bandstand is the perfect way to begin. Come relax and dream on the lawn as the late summer sun sets.”

The Princess Show runs August 6 - 8 at The Arts Guild in Charlottetown. The award-winning show is a fully lip synced multimedia extravaganza. It features anime, drag, stunning projection and visual design and a fun heartwarming story everyone can connect to!

The upcoming Saturday matinee of The Princess Show has a portion of tickets available for free as HEIST and the Nova Scotia Youth Project help make space for all. If you are 21 years of age or under, you can book a complimentary ticket! A limited number of these inclusive tickets are also available for the evening performance. Regular tickets are on a sliding scale and start as low as $20.

Aaron Collier performs as Princess Edward in The Princess Show. Aaron is no stranger to Cape Breton as he has played all over the island as the keyboardist in The Jimmy Swift Band. You may have caught him onstage from Inverness to New Waterford to Sydney to Port Hawkesbury over the years.

Aaron also special guested onstage with Slowcoaster many times throughout his band days. Or you may have seen Aaron with his other band Scientists of Sound!

Come see a different side of Aaron onstage at the Eltuek Arts Centre! You’ll also get to hear his award-winning sound design and original score for the fully lip synched and underscored production!

Richie Wilcox performs in The Princess Show as Abel T. Suckizone. Richie is originally from New Waterford, Cape Breton and is excited to finally bring this work to his home island! Richie has toured to Cape Breton twice before with HEIST with the show Nation and their show New Waterford Boy: A Ceilidh.

Richie got his start in theatre by doing Festival on The Bay for numerous summers, including being in the chorus of The Music Man starring Fred Penner at the Savoy. He also did many productions at the Boardmore Playhouse directed by John Lingard and Harry Boardmore, including an original take on Cinderella where he got to drive onto the stage on a dirtbike as one of the step-sister’s bad ass boyfriends. Richie returned to Cape Breton to direct the sexy and provocative Bunny by Hannah Moscovitch at The HAT years ago and will be returning next year to direct his original show Coal Bowl Queen at The Savoy.

We are so happy to have part of our HEIST family joining us onstage as our special guest for The Princes Show - Elle Noir!

Elle Noir is a 21 year veteran of drag and a true local legend.
As a Trans Black performer, Elle uses her lived experience and intersectional identity not only to entertain, but to educate, advocate, and shine a necessary spotlight on QTBIPOC communities. Her impact has been recognized year after year on The Coast’s Best Drag Performer list for 18 consecutive years, earning 7 Gold, 7 Silver, and 4 Bronze titles.

Elle’s legacy includes holding titles such as Mz Gay Halifax, Mz Menz Bar, Mz Reflections, and Miss El Convento Rico (Toronto). Her work spans stage, television, and film, including appearances on Mr. D and the film Stage Mother, where she both acted and served as Key Makeup Artist.

She is also the creator of MelaNATION: A QTBIPOC Showcase, now the largest QTBIPOC drag showcase in Canada. Often called the “Beyoncé of Halifax,” Elle blends old school drag with new school energy, while using her platform for activism and public speaking.

Beyond the stage, she served as Vice Chair of the Halifax Pride board from 2020 to 2022, championing equity and advocating for marginalized and racialized communities.
