NAFTANA LANN, THE HALF MUMMY

How do you get a HALF mummy? You chop off the legs.

Naftana is a powerful mummy lord that has rallied the legions of the undead in the Necropolis Part 2: The Royal Remains. Adventurers have been sent to face her, and realized that she only comes back after she is destroyed. The last party managed to sever her legs before retreating.

Your party will have to find a means to defeat her permanently before facing her head-on. If you don’t she’ll only come back stronger than ever. Unfortunately, she’s coming right for you! You didn’t think this crawling menace would let you explore her level of the Necropolis in peace did you?

Let the chase begin.

SCAVENGER MUMMIES

We’ve posted these bad-boys before when they were still in line-art form. They are probably some of my favourite new monsters in the Necropolis adventures (they remind me of those runners from the Dark Crystal).

When one thinks of mummies, they think of a slow, plodding, zombie-like menace. They don’t picture an ant-like creature skittering quickly across the desert sands.

As the dry desert winds rip at the undead flesh of traditional mummies, they eventually lose one or two limbs. If they don’t want to be destroyed completely by the scouring sands, they have to get inventive. Scavenger mummies use their bandages, and magically entwine them around objects and lost limbs to create new appendages for themselves. These often create stilt-like legs, far-reaching arms, and insect-like frames they use to move quickly across the dunes.

Face these and more in our Undead Legions series as part of the Necropolis trio of adventures.

OSHARA SHAIN

Oshara is an acolyte in the town of Dead Man’s Rest. They are the NPC that first reaches out to the party asking for assistance. Faced with limited magical resources, the clergy of the town have had to make dangerous expeditions into the Necropolis to replenish their mana (spell slots). This ambitious tiefling has a plan to make this safer, and more reliable. Will your party be able to make their dreams come true?

CONTINUED REPRESENTATION
It’s harder in a one-shot or small scale adventure to have the same level of 2SLGBTQIA+ representation as we would in say, Rise of the Black Coven. In general, players won’t be interacting with as many NPCs, or conversing with them in as great detail as they would in a longer format campaign. STILL. It’s important to note that Oshara is a non-binary character that uses they/them pronouns. And they're tiefling. Nuff said.

THE CHARIOTEER

Although there are plenty of zombies within the Necropolis, not all the undead are mindless drones. Featured here is a proud charioteer who guards the Royal Rampart down into the deeper recesses of the dungeon.

The Necropolis is designed to be a non-linear dungeon. As such, you may find your path barred by a *different* nasty as you descend deeper into the pyramid… Personally, I’d rather not face the charioteer head-on. Still, it’d be worth it to look at this amazing artwork by , or to collect his surprising treasure after the fight… But I can’t give TOO much away here!

WELCOME TO THE NECROPOLIS

Have your players been craving a challenge? Are regular dungeons just not cutting it? Then it’s time to throw them into the Necropolis.

Set deep within a vast desert known as the Devic Wastes, sources of magical energy are as hard to come by as water. For the town of Dead Man’s Rest, the only reliable source of mana is an ancient megastructure known as The Necropolis. There’s just one problem: it’s home to endless legions of the dead.

No one has ever explored the entirety of this ruin. No matter how many zombies, mummies and skeletons are slain, more always bubble up from the deeper levels. Not only that, but those unfortunate adventurers who’ve died within the pyramid inevitably rise as undead themselves…

The Necropolis is part of our Undead Legions adventure series. Broken into 3 parts, Part 1: The Font of Mana is designed for 3-5 adventurers of levels 4-6. This challenging dungeon is going to put your party through its paces, so make sure they are prepared!

NEES A’K’DU, HERALD OF THUNDER

What happens when you mummify a giant? THIS.

Slumbering for eons within his mountain home, A’k’du was awoken when his wand, Groundbreaker, vanished. Presumed stolen, A’k’du’s wrath has been unquenchable, endangering the nearby village of Greenhaven. Will your party help this ancient undead creature recover his possession, or will they take it for themselves and face his furry?

There’s more to it, of course, but we can’t give EVERYTHING away here, now can we?

BELLY OF THE GODS

The Greenhaven mountains have been beset by earthquakes and landslides. They fear their mountain god has been angered somehow. Despite their best efforts and offerings, nothing has been able to appease his wrath. In desperation, they have turned to a group of plucky adventurers to help them: YOUR PARTY!

Delve deep into the land's secrets and uncover the cause of the earthquakes. Of course, not all is as it seems, as your party will soon discover. Face the terrors that lie within the Belly of the Gods.

Belly of the Gods is a self-contained adventure for 5th Edition D&D / D&D 2024. It’s designed for a party of 3-5 adventurers from levels 10-12. It can be completed over 1-3 sessions. Written by as her first foray into adventure publishing. This amazing adventure is fun, quirky, and (dare I say) goopy. Your party will be talking about it for a long time.

A’K’DU’s FAITHFUL
(You pronounce it like the crash of thunder).

These undead bog-bodies served their master until death and beyond. Rising from the earth and muck to face your party, not is all as it seems. Will you bargain with Nees A’k’du, and avoid his wrath? Or will you provoke his undead ire, and face his horde of servants?

No run-of-the-mill undead, these former priests and sycophants are coordinated, attacking in droves. They wield a fraction of their master’s power over lightning, which they use to surprise their foes. Anyone who thinks A’k’Du’s faithful are just shambling around are in for surprising shock.

THE HEARTKEEPER
Everyone loves an optional boss. The Heartkeeper is an optional boss in Belly of the Gods (in more than one way!)

If you can find his hidden chambers, you may be met with a strange encounter. This solemn guardian keeps vigil deep within his mountain home, protecting his master’s most sacred treasure. He is a keeper of lore, and not immediately hostile. If the party is willing to help him, he may help them in return. Just try to keep your paladin calm during the conversation. Nothing says ROLL INITIATIVE like a holy warrior shouting “DIE UNDEAD SCOURGE!”

Some more art spoilers for Undead Legions!

INTRODUCING THE HEARTWORM. Look, the campaigns can't JUST be about zombies and undead monsters. SOMETIMES, these things fester and harbour *other* lifeforms.

Full stats for this little abomination will be coming later this month when we release the first Undead Legions adventure: Belly of the Gods. Releasing later this month!

Belly of the Gods is designed for DnD 5e as a supplemental adventure. It can be run as a standalone experience or part of a larger narrative. Meant for characters level 10-12 (ish. Your party may vary), you KNOW things are going to get...gooey.
