Calling Black Writers in Nova Scotia! 📖
The Ink Collective, curated by author Andre Fenton, is a mentorship and skill-building series designed to uplift Black writers. If you have less than 20,000 words published or are working on a project but unsure of the next steps, this program is for you!
Through immersive workshops, mentorship, and industry connections, participants will refine their craft, build community, and gain the tools to navigate writing fiction, non-fiction, poetry, children’s literature, and screenwriting. We will have industry professionals offer advice on topics such as acquisitions to publishers, seeking representations with agencies, and the editorial process with writing.

📍 20 writers will be selected for this hands-on program at The Bus Stop Theatre Co-Op. This series will take place during the spring to fall.

Applications are open until midnight May 4th.
🌟 Our partners include Delmore “Buddy” Daye Learning Institute, African Nova Scotian Affairs, Halifax Regional Municipality

You might have noticed a new logo! We are now The Bus Stop Theatre Co-op’s Narrative Program. The Narrative Program is facilitated by award winning author and spoken word artist, Andre Fenton at The Bus Stop Theatre Co-op, located in the heart of Gottingen Street, a historic Black community in the North End of Halifax. This program exists to uplift marginalized voices while creating a consistent, accessible space for writers to develop their work, sharpen their craft, and engage in meaningful feedback across disciplines. The focus is to create a community that builds both confidence and skill.

Upcoming programs will be accessible to writers working in playwriting, screenwriting, poetry, fiction, and other disciplines. The Narrative Program encourages a multidisciplinary approach to foster versatile storytellers who can move fluidly between mediums or deepen their practice in one.

Program details, schedules, and participation information will be announced shortly.

Stay connected for updates and opportunities to get involved.
