Good afternoon everyone, our 2026/2027 dance season has been booked. Event listings have been made on this page so you can add to your calendar by clicking on them. All dances are being held at the Fairview Legion.

Here are the dates:

Adult 19+ dances - Saturdays from 8-11pm

All ages dances - Sundays - Trying 2-5pm for the November dance, then will confirm time going forward for the other dates

Tunes on the Halifax waterfront this evening

𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗼 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗮𝘅 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗿. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

We’re bringing a proper Kitchen Party to the waterfront with 𝗪𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗮𝗰 & 𝗠𝗮𝗰 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻, 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗱, Highland dancers, Demigod Double IPA samples, and bucket specials on Kitchen Party Pale Ale + Blursday Hazy IPA.

𝗗𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗼𝗻 and 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 are coming along too, because if we’re leaving the island, we may as well bring some good company.

The fourth recipient is Sophie Jones-Gallant.

Sophie was unable to be at the dance on Sunday so the presentation took place today (May 23) in Halifax when she was in town.

Congratulations to Sophie Jones-Gallant (daughter of Pamela Jones-Gallant) for being selected to receive a $75 Cape Breton Charitable Association of Halifax 2026 student bursary.

On May 23, Sophie was presented with the $75 bursary cheque for Amy Swenson (fiddle instructor) along with a certificate of the recognition of the 75th Anniversary of the Cape Breton Charitable Association of Halifax for Sophie's achievements in her music and by continuing in taking fiddle lessons.

This certificate is presented to Sophie in memory of the late Anna Melski. ( Anna contributed to the Cape Breton Charitable Association of Halifax as president and produced and the host of many lively and entertaining Cape Breton Ceilidhs on Dartmouth Community Television in the 1980's and early 1990's).

The third recipient was Kinsey Lynn Fader.

Congratulations to Kinsey Lynn Fader (daughter of Laura and Shawn Fader) for been selected to receive a $75 Cape Breton Charitable Association of Halifax 2026 student bursary.

On Sunday, May 10, 2026 at the Cape Breton All Ages Dance and Ceilidh at the Fairview Legion she was presented with a $75 Bursary cheque to Malcolm MacNeil (piano instructor) along with a certificate of recognition of the 75th Anniversary of the Cape Breton Charitable Association of Halifax for Kinsey Lynn’s achievements in music and her desire to continue with piano lessons.

This certificate was presented to Kinsey Lynn in honour of Willena Campbell (Willena contributed to the Cape Breton Charitable Association of Halifax as secretary, president and director and in many other ways for over twenty five years.)

Congratulations to Ella Jo MacNeil (daughter of Rhonda Hanson and Sheldon MacNeil) for being selected to receive a $75 Cape Breton Charitable Association of Halifax 2026 student bursary.

On Sunday , May 10, 2026 at the Cape Breton All Ages Dance and Ceilidh at the Fairview Legion , she was presented with a $75 Bursary cheque to Wendy MacIsaac (fiddle instructor) along with a certificate of recognition of the 75th Anniversary of the Cape Breton Charitable Association of Halifax for Ella Jo's achievements in music and by continuing in taking fiddle lessons.

This certificate was presented to Ella Jo in memory of the late Les MacKinnon (Les contributed to the Cape Breton Charitable Association of Halifax as Vice President and Cape Breton Adult Dance Chairperson together with his wife Anna Fiander for many years.)
