Pride is a time to celebrate who we are, reflect on how far we’ve come, and recognize the work that continues to build a more inclusive future.

The Halifax Gay Men’s Chorus is proud to create space for connection and belonging through music.

This month, we celebrate our choristers, supporters, and everyone working to build communities where people can live openly, authentically, and with pride.

As a chorus, we know the power of being heard.

Every voice deserves to move through the world without fear. Every person deserves to live openly, fully, and freely as they are.

🎶 We’re hiring! 🎶

The Halifax Gay Men’s Chorus is looking for an Assistant Conductor for our 2026–2027 season.

As a vibrant and growing chorus of over 80 members, HGMC is committed to musical excellence, creating a safe and supportive social environment, and being an ambassador for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in Halifax and across Nova Scotia. Reporting to the Artistic Director, our Assistant Conductor plays an important role in shaping our sound, supporting our singers, and contributing to the artistic vision of the chorus.

This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging or established choral leader who is passionate about collaborative music-making and inclusive community building.

Visibility is about showing up as you are and being heard. Trans and non-binary voices are part of what makes our chorus stronger, more vibrant, and more reflective of the world around us.
