The Halifax Gay Men's Chorus strives to foster support, acceptance and community through music! 🎼🌈

HGMC is looking for new Board members!

As one of Nova Scotia’s largest 2SLGBTQIA+ organizations, HGMC has grown significantly since 2019, both on stage and in the community.

We’re looking for people who can bring experience in fundraising, policy development and partnership building to our Board of Directors. Experience in the arts or 2SLGBTQIA+ community is an asset, but not required.

Board members meet monthly and also contribute to committee work throughout the year.

What a weekend!

The Halifax Gay Men’s Chorus spent the weekend in Berwick for our annual retreat. Lots of singing, lots of laughs and plenty of time with some of our favourite people.

Now that we’re back and in the full swing of things, stay tuned. We’ve got some exciting news coming very soon!

🎶 We’re hiring! 🎶

The Halifax Gay Men’s Chorus is looking for an Assistant Conductor for our 2026–2027 season.

As a vibrant and growing chorus of over 80 members, HGMC is committed to musical excellence, creating a safe and supportive social environment, and being an ambassador for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in Halifax and across Nova Scotia. Reporting to the Artistic Director, our Assistant Conductor plays an important role in shaping our sound, supporting our singers, and contributing to the artistic vision of the chorus.

This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging or established choral leader who is passionate about collaborative music-making and inclusive community building.
