June is National Indigenous History Month.

This month, we recognize and celebrate the rich histories, cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. It is also a time to reflect on the resilience, strength, and ongoing leadership of Indigenous communities across Canada and here in Mi’kma’ki.

At Symphony Nova Scotia, we are committed to listening, learning, and building meaningful relationships with Indigenous artists, communities, and partners. We encourage our community to take time this month to learn, celebrate, and engage with Indigenous history, art, music, and culture.

One way to celebrate is through music. We invite you to explore the work of Indigenous artists and composers, including these collaborations between indigenous artists and Symphony Nova Scotia:

Throughout this month, we celebrate the vibrant 2SLGBTQIA+ community, honour the progress that has been made, and recognize the work that still lies ahead.
