Congratulations to our Artistic Director, Andrew Jackson, recipient of this year's Susan Hunter Award. 💚

For the past 10 years, .jacksonmusic has helped shape the artistic vision of the Halifax Jazz Festival, while championing local musicians, creating opportunities for emerging artists, and connecting Halifax audiences with incredible music from around the world.

Long before becoming Artistic Director, Andrew was part of our festival as a performer and continues to make time to share his music during the festival.

One of our favourite additions to this year's festival? The Boardwalk Series. 🌊🎶

Thanks to our partners at , thousands of festival-goers experienced free live music along Halifax's beautiful waterfront, creating unforgettable moments for locals and visitors alike.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Canadian Jazz legend, Oliver Jones.

Mr. Jones performed many times at Halifax Jazz Festival, most recently in 2016 to a sold out audience.

Each performance was with filled with a grace and virtuosity that few have matched. We thank him for the music!
