AMG co-AD Stewart Legere is heading to the west coast in November as a mentor for this great residency program from our friends at Impulse Theatre. Check it out! xo

It’s that time of year again - Peek Fest is back from November 3rd to 20th, 2021. We are thrilled to announce that all events will be live in person again in Victoria, BC. We'll have workshops, performances, and many more fun things!

We're still putting the final pieces together, but we are so happy to let you know that the Peek Fest Residency Program returns this year under the mentorship of Stewart Legere. And this year we will select 2 in-person applications and 1 digital application.

The 2021 Residency Program is intended for projects that have gone through the initial stages of development but have not yet had a full public presentation.

This year, residency artists will receive one-on-one mentorship from Residency Mentor, Stewart Legere, a multidisciplinary artist from Halifax/ Kjipuktuk. He is the Co-Artistic Director of The Accidental Mechanics Group and Associate Artistic Director of Zuppa Theatre Co. His performances have been presented at theatres and festivals across Canada and the UK. He brings insight on Creative Process, Producing & Touring, Interdisciplinary creation, Collaboration Across Distance and working in hybrid digital and in-person environments.

Accepted projects will also receive a $750 - $1000 honorarium, 25 hours of dedicated studio time, a 20 minute slot in the Residency Showcase, and more!

Premiering TONIGHT! “Light of Hope” – A new animated virtual experience of sound and light will premier online this evening at 8pm.

Light of Hope was created by AVA Animation & Visual Arts Inc, a woman-led Toronto based animation studio, and JUNO-nominated, internationally celebrated Indigenous composer and cellist, Cris Derksen.

Light of Hope is a visual and sonic journey that virtually frames the CN Tower / Tour CN – one of Canada's most iconic symbols – as a beacon of hope, emphasizing people's capacity to shine through adversity and achieve great changes together.

Presented by the City of Toronto and funded in part by the Government of Canada (Canadian Heritage), Light of Hope will be available for viewing at https://www.toronto.ca/explore-enjoy/festivals-events/light-of-hope/ for the remainder of the year.
