Looking for something fun (and free) to do this weekend?
The Halifax Newcomer Choir is hosting a Bollywood Dance Workshop, and everyone is welcome — no experience needed.

This is more than a dance class. It’s a chance to:
✨ practice English in a relaxed, social setting
✨ connect with your community through music and movement
✨ experience Bollywood dance as a form of cultural expression
✨ meet newcomers and long-time locals alike

📅 Sunday, January 11 | 2–4 PM
📍 Alderney Gate Public Library (2nd Floor)

📝 Note: There will be no Halifax choir rehearsal on Tuesday, January 13.

Bring a friend, wear something comfortable, and come dance with us 💛
All are welcome.

DID YOU KNOW?

Singing in a group can help language learners in amazing ways:

✅ Improves pronunciation and rhythm
✅ Builds confidence in speaking
✅ Makes new vocabulary stick through melody
✅ Creates a low-pressure practice environment
✅ Connects you with others in your community

That’s why we do what we do! Our choirs in Halifax and St. John’s combine the joy of music with the power of community to help newcomers feel at home.
