Diaspora children deserve more than stories about home. They deserve to feel those stories come alive through language, rhythm, theatre, dance and community.

At AMARA × Akụkọ Ifo: Moonlight and Snowfalls, children, youth, artists, elders and families gathered in Halifax to keep Igbo culture alive, not as something frozen in the past, but as something living, joyful and moving from one generation to the next.

From memory to movement.
From elders to children.
From the stories that raised us to the stories they will carry forward.

Culture is not inherited automatically. It must be taught, experienced and lived.
