Chicory blue ( )is a beautifully restored, locally oriented, and community minded space located in Blockhouse NS. Thanks to them, we were able to use locally sourced willow for multiple projects with the art bikers this year! Next time you venture down to the South shore make sure to stop by for a bike rental, your everyday home goods, or a sustainably sourced meal and coffee in their beautiful backyard gardens. They also have delicious catering options and offer free workshops on sustainable subjects. Wonder’neath would like to extend a sincere thank you to councillors Laura White (District 7) and Virginia Hinch (District 8) for supporting the Art Biker Program with our first-ever Cargo E-Bike! From heavy trailers of art supplies to water jugs, we’ve been able to literally “bring more to our programs” with our E-Bike. The E-Bike will support a greater diversity of riders in the program and support a long-term commitment to communities across HRM. In honour of the two community leaders who invested in our program, we’ve named our bike The Councillor! Thank you for your commitment to community arts in HRM!

Art Bikers is a mobile art program that brings artists, children, and community members together in public green spaces around Halifax.

It was a busy June for the Art Bikers! We travelled to Glen Gardens and the North Memorial Library to make hanging mobiles just in time for the summer solstice. We ran a highly successful series of bike decor and sticker making events at the Family SOS in Greystone, St. Andrew’s Community Centre, and as a part of the Uniacke Square Beautification Day.Finally, we ran a special Art Olympics to celebrate the end of school at the North Grove! Despite one (1) wiggly hitch, we’ve had a wonderful month, and are looking forward to a July full of sharing, shenanigans, and sweetness!
