What is Sutra: The Sanskrit word Sūtra means a string or a thread. The root of the word is siv, that which sews and holds things together. It was chosen to reflect our Goal - To support both established artisans/artists—whose work is highly collected and is made using innovative techniques by pushing the boundaries of design—as well as those emerging in the field.
