While February Folk Fest celebrates our vibrant music community each winter, summer brings its own incredible lineup of live performances, theatre, art, and creative experiences throughout the region.

This feature in the latest issue of Cottage Country Lifestyle Magazine showcases just a few of the reasons the Haliburton Highlands is a great destination for arts and culture all year long, from the Highlands Summer Festival and the Haliburton School of Art + Design to the live music/concerts on decks and patios across the region.

The 2026 February Folk Festival is now behind us. What a month of music! We are still crunching numbers but I think we can declare it a success.

More than 3200 people attended 58 music events and concerts. Over 70 local and musicians performed in 21 venues throughout the County.

Thanks to all who came out to listen. We appreciate your support for live music. Thanks to the County of Haliburton for initiating this signature festival and asking the Haliburton County Folk Society to be a partner in organizing it. Thanks to Lizzy Clarke for being coordinator and looking after so many details. And thanks to the many volunteers who helped to organize specific events, setup/take down, sell tickets, and promote the festival and the many events.
