The Great Canadian Truck Show was initially conceptualized as a non-competitive event, focusing on camaraderie and enjoyment. By leaving politics, favoritism, personal opinions, and other negative factors outside the gates, we created an atmosphere that encouraged participants to unwind and have a great time, leaving them eager to return. However, by 2023, we recognized the need to acknowledge the dedication and hard work that goes into customizing these vehicles. Thus, we introduced a judged component to the event, aiming to keep the process straightforward and fair. After careful consideration, we decided that the most suitable judges would be the participants themselves, giving rise to our 'Peer Choice' award. The guidelines for this award are simple: participants cannot vote for their own truck or one under the same company name, and only registered participants are eligible to vote. In the event of a tie, a winner will be chosen by a junior participant under the age of 10. Our past recipients of the Peer Choice award include Kevin Smeltzer, Jess Annis, and Mike Simmer. We invite you to join us at the Grand Bend Motorplex in July for this year's show. Who will you vote for, and which of our 2026 participants will take home the Peer Choice award?
