Happy International Women's Day! To celebrate, we have a piece by one of our artists, Jade, and some words from her about the inspiration for the piece:

"I wanted to pay homage to a moment I felt connected to womanhood and immediately thought of Michaela Jaé Rodriguez as Audrey, in the Pasadena Playhouse revival of Little Shop of Horrors. Little Shop was one of my first musicals, and seeing a woman of colour as Audrey sort of blew my mind. As a biracial black woman, it was a powerful moment for me.

I think it's incredibly important to see yourself in art, and the only way that happens is not only by acknowledging how far we've come. but by making sure gender and racial minorities even have a seat at the table."
