Happy New Year!

2019 was a quiet year for LambHawke Productions, but we did want to tell you about a project we completed this past year- we made a book!

This labour of love took over a year from conception to completion. In the spring of 2018, former clients came to us with the idea of digitizing their family history and creating a book to give to the members of their family. They had dozens of images and pages upon pages of compiled notes and anecdotes about their family history.

These notes were impressive, and the amount of research our clients had done on their family ancestry was incredible- they had information on their lineage dating back as far as the 1600’s! They tracked their family’s journey immigrating from Europe to Canada in the early 1900’s and today have family as far away as Australia.

Once we had the bulk of the information we needed from our clients, we got to work. We scanned every image so we had a digital collection of their photos, and Stephanie edited and restored each one. While most simply needed some quick colour correcting and cropping, some photos were very old and damaged in places. She made sure to clean them up where she could without ruining their integrity- we wanted the old photos to maintain their character!

Shannon compiled a huge family tree featuring the different branches of their family and how they weaved together over the years, from 1665 all the way to 2017 (that’s 352 years). This was no small feat ensuring all the known family members’ names and birth/death dates were included *and* have it all fit on 2 pages. To say this was a challenge is an understatement!

The result is a sleek, 110-page book divided into three chronological sections for each branch of their family tree from known beginning to present day, with lined pages at the end for family members to add further notes. We are beyond impressed by the work our clients put into documenting their family history, and very proud of our team efforts and the final product!

Where did 2018 go????

This year was a busy one and brought a bunch of new changes for the two of us, so it was fun to look back and pull together this behind the scenes video for our short film 'Relativity' which premiered 2 years ago today!

This project was a lot of fun and a lot of stress rolled into one- just how we do our best work 😅 Oh, and it was FREEZING. It's definitely crazy comparing this year's lack of snow to 2016.

We hope you enjoy this video, and hope you have a happy new year!

It's only been two years but it was bound to happen eventually! Here's the behind the scenes from our short film 'Relativity.' Adam Young Scores: www.ayoungs...

Good news time!

Shannon is pursuing a new job opportunity and today is moving day! We're both very excited to see where this next stage of her life takes her.

Don't worry, LambHawke isn't going anywhere👌We're looking forward to eventually getting back into creating and exploring another beautiful city!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend :)

HI FRIENDS (we know, long time no see). Happy to report that we're pulling up our sleeves and getting back into editing our next LambHawke projects!

With all of the extra footage we had from Relativity, Stephanie is currently working on a behind the scenes vlog and Shannon is working on a blooper reel!

It's been great revisiting this film and finding a lot of hidden gems (like this hair impression)!

We can't wait for you to see them :)

So three months absolutely FLEW BY.

After our last project wrapped up at the end of July, Shannon and I dove immediately into rehearsals three nights a week for Mariposa Arts Theatre's production of CHICAGO! It's been an amazing experience. This photo of us (taken by .marie_art) is from the 1920's-themed gala after our first performance!

We've completed our first weekend of performances and have a couple nights off until we start back up again Thursday-Sunday. If you haven't seen it yet, or already have and want to see it again 😉, tickets can be purchased through The Orillia Opera House in person, by phone, or online, but HURRY! Thursday is already sold out and tickets are almost gone. Prepare to be razzle dazzled 🌟

UPDATE: WE ARE OFFICIALLY SOLD OUT OF TICKETS!

Check out the sneak-peek video that we created for Downtown Orillia's 150th Mural by Artist Paul Baxter! The mural is on the side of The Brownstone Cafe and the unveiling ceremony is tomorrow at noon. Even we still don't know what the whole thing will look like, so we can't wait to check it out! Special thanks goes out to Downtown Orillia for debuting our work!

ON THIS DAY in 2015

Two years ago, the Orillia Museum of Art & History WON FIRST PLACE in When You Work at a Museum's "Museum Dance Off 2" with a video that Stephanie, Shannon, and our friend Victor produced called "Sir Sam Funk"! It shows off OMAH in a "one-shot" style video and was filled with top-notch lipsyncing and dancing to Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" by staff, volunteers, youth groups and camps!

For those of you who have been with LambHawke since the beginning, you know what a wild experience this was for us, and everyone who voted! I don't think we slept for a month as we created this video and endured MANY rounds of voting- all while finishing out third year of university- but it was the BEST experience. Ultimately, OMAH beat out over 25 other amazing museums from all over the world and got this small-town museum put on the map!

So, whether you've seen "Sir Sam Funk" a thousand times or have yet to watch it, here's the link below! Sir Sam's an international champion. Don't believe me? Just watch.
