Find Your Voice Music Camp A faith-based Music Camp for young vocalists in Manitoba. This summer, we will be holding a day of workshops for students age 11-16.

This day of workshops will include body awareness, theater staging, leading worship music, and an informal masterclass.

Marilyn Houser Hamm has been making music live in southern Manitoba and beyond for over thirty years- whether as a piano and voice instructor and performer, professional accompanist, Choral Director, and pastoral musician. Music is definitely her bag! Marilyn loves training developing voices and helping young people find their voice.

Introducing Nathan Sawatzky-Dyck, who will be leading our Theater Workshop this summer!

Nathan Sawatzky-Dyck is an avid performer of opera and musical theater, with a couple of theater plays under his belt as well. A graduate of Canadian Mennonite University, Nathan studied under the mentorship of David Klassen from whom he learned both singing and stage craft. Nathan has since gone on to perform in Edmonton with Opera NUOVA, Saskatoon Opera, and several projects right here in Manitoba. Nathan has also done some opera workshops for children and put on a one act opera with Alyssa Hildebrand and Nolan Kehler. He is excited to expand his teaching experience here in Gretna.

Introducing Emily Rempel, who will be running the Leading Worship Workshop this summer!!

Emily Rempel has completed her fourth year of a Bachelor of Music degree at CMU. She studies piano with Shirley Elias and recently enjoyed playing piano for CMU’s production of the opera City Workers in Love. Originally from New Hamburg, Ontario, Emily’s love for music began in her church, accompanying hymns and leading singing. Emily enjoys making music in many capacities, working with singers, choirs, instrumentalists, and congregations. She is the 2017-2018 recipient of the Abner Martin Music Scholarship from the Menno Singers choir and was the featured piano soloist in the choir’s fall 2018 concert. She is passionate about fostering a love of music and the church in children and youth and is so excited to be part of camp this summer!
