The dust has settled, the snow has arrived, and another Ontario Paintball League season has come to a close for the Sudbury Stack Program.

2025 marked our most ambitious year yet, with four teams competing across three divisions. We are incredibly grateful for the support that made this season possible.

Season Highlights:
• Teal – 3rd Place at Canada Cup after a season of consistent growth.
• Red – Strong early momentum; best event finish of 5th.
• Purple – First season in D4, gaining valuable experience for 2026.
• Tan – First season in D4, Major late-season improvement with a 3–0 preliminary run at E5, finishing 4th in overtime against No Remorse.

As a program, we grew on both individual and team levels. Each event brought new lessons, new challenges, and new friendships. Thank you to the programs and players we forged new friendships and learned with this season.

Thank you to everyone who supported us and everyone we battled alongside this season.

It’s our final roster post of the 2025 season introducing to you, Patrick Giroux! 💪 #️⃣1️⃣1️⃣/ #️⃣6️⃣9️⃣

Pat played speedball for the first time this season during the streetball event at the end of July and it was very clear from the start he was a serious player.

He has not missed a weekend or practice with the team since and even joined us at Event 3 to assist the Sudbury Stack Purple squad in Wasaga. Pat has taken to the sport with true passion and made his debut as soon as the chance arose with us at Event 4 playing with Sudbury Stack Teal and is continuing on with them for Event 5.

He built his best paintball memory to date playing OPL for the first time and can’t wait to build more. He enjoys watching NXL and Dynasty play. Pat loves paintball for the high intensity and the team dynamics. He is a true athlete always looking to improve himself, and help his teammates around him improve on the journey with him. Pat has a primary goal in mind; win a tournament.

We have been super happy to have Pat as apart of the stack, and we can’t wait to see what Event 5 brings for everyone in the program. See everyone at the Canada Cup! 🏆🇨🇦

Launching into OPL Event 4 with a new addition! Once again representing Sudbury, meet Ryan Cooper! 💪 #️⃣3️⃣7️⃣

Ryan is a returning veteran of the sport, having first started playing in 2002. A player with tons of tournament experience in both 3v3 and 5v5 formats who enjoyed many wins in various series and events. He has played in MXL for Sudbury North Union and RXL for Guelph Silence.

Ryan has a lot of great memories from paintball ranging from event wins, to paintballing with his parents on multiple occasions.

Ryan has a love for the game, now running an Impact CS2 he used to be known for his use of Bob Long Intimidators and G6R’s, he watches pro paintball on the regular and can’t wait to get back spinning with some of his original teammates.

We can’t wait to see Ryan back in action with us at Event 4!

The Sudbury Stack Program is getting ready and gearing up for our 2026 Ontario Paintball League season!

We will be hosting tryouts to fill positions on multiple squads & divisions for our next OPL season.

Our team practices and plays out of our home field Nickel City Paintball in Sudbury and will be hosting tryouts September 7th 2025 at Nickel City Paintball starting at 9AM!

OPL Event 3 is in the books and the Sudbury Stack teams have all had a chance to take time for rest and to review.

There were big improvements from all of our teams this event although our results may not have reflected it. We did meet some of our goals and targets for improvements from E2 to E3.

That being said, we have clear target areas for improvement and have already begun work to refine as a program and as individual teams.

We have now also begun preparation for our 2026 campaign! 2026 season tryouts information will be coming in another post shortly!

Our sights are now set on Event 4 back at Adrenaline Paintball.

Thank you to all of the staff at Wasaga, as well as the OPL event staff, referees, media and everyone who contributes to putting on great events!

As we approach our third major event of the 2025 season, we wanted to shoutout a huge supporter that began with us this season.

Our second Ontario Paintball League Event of the 2025 season took us to the always lovely Wasaga Beach Paintball Adventure.

The heat was in full force Saturday & Sunday to test everyone.

On Saturday, to start the day we saw our Beginner Teal team take to field to open up with their first point win as a team!! They continued to battle through hard fought competition and finished their event 4-4 just missing playoffs.

Division 4 Tan had a day of learning experience earning a variety of penalties in their first two matches. The squad lost all matches in close fashion with 3-2 scores across the board.

Division 4 Purple saw big improvement from Event 1, and the introduction of a new squad member with Cody. Purple also missed out on advancing beyond preliminaries this event.

Regardless of the outcomes, our Saturday teams had an amazing time as always in Wasaga even with the heat, and can’t wait to be back for Event 3.

Sunday action saw Sudbury Stack Red take to the field in Division 5. The squad was in familiar form and was making adjustments from E1 and secured the first win of the day. For the second prelim we took a big loss, and it was good for insight into our third preliminary against an Event 1 podium finisher in NBK Hamilton. Fortunately we secured our second win of the day and advanced to playoffs for the second consecutive event to play Event 1 winners Adrenaline Anarchy in Quarters where we ultimately fell in overtime.
