Good morning Sudbury !!!

122 has some sad news to share.

Every studio tour the artists involved puts something cool into our door prize basket.
During our first Spring Studio Tour this weekend - someone stole it.

We apologize to those who had their names in the for the draw and to those who were looking forward to having their name in.

TO THE PERSON WHO STOLE IT:
Shame on you. I hope you know what to do with the items and that you are inspired to create something. Realize that a lot of time and creativity went into some of the items.

Come visit the artists in Studio #313 🌼

What started as making shirts and posters with their own separate DIY setups to now, Side Eye Press, a screen printing and design duo. Kyle () and Steph () use texture, archival research and nostalgia, striving to create work that resonates.

Currently in the works for this tour; Kyle will be selling and showcasing a new clothing project in collaboration with .rituals, featuring their own artwork printed on thrifted items. Steph will be working on a new project involving an entirely new medium which will incorporate design, writing, screen printing and now sewing.

Yellow House encompasses the creative work of Tracy Baker, a Northern Ontario-based multidisciplinary artist and educator. Her work currently focuses on bespoke jewelry that incorporates locally foraged & preserved botanicals to create delicate wearable wild gardens.

Outside of Yellow House, she is the co-founder of Makers North Collective with her partner Julieanne Steedman and also instructs in the Cambrian College Art & Design Fundamentals Program.

Born and raised in Sudbury, Tracy currently resides with her husband and children who graciously assist with flower foraging and preservation. When not in her studio, you can find her sneaking into neighbours' gardens or walking the woods with her two Aussie mix pups.

The Intersection of Artistry and Technology
While many may not connect artistry with a career in computer technology, there exists a level of creativity in problem-solving, whether it takes an artistic or technical form.

Throughout my life, I’ve nurtured a passion for creativity and a commitment to life-long learning, experimenting with various forms and mediums of art.

Pursuing my interests in photography and earning a degree from the New York Institute of Photography, led me to pursue a more hands-on artistic direction with a diploma in Fine Art and Design from Cambrian College. This journey was enriched by the remarkable individuals and skilled educators I have met along the way.

Drawing inspiration from my photography of flora and fauna, my artwork is created using oils, acrylics, alcohol inks, and more recently watercolours.

“Emergence and Alchemy” is an introspective exhibition exploring healing, transformation, and self-discovery. Through artworks made with organic and recycled materials, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on love, grief, growth, and the beauty that can emerge from pain. Rooted in the artist’s personal journey of repair and resilience, the works bring together fragmented emotions, memories, and identities, encouraging viewers to embrace vulnerability, renewal, and our shared humanity.

« Émergence et Alchimie » est une exposition introspective qui explore la guérison, la transformation et la découverte de soi. À travers des œuvres réalisées avec des matériaux organiques et recyclés, l’exposition invite les visiteurs à réfléchir à l’amour, au deuil, à la croissance et à la beauté pouvant émerger de la douleur.
