Starbelly Jam Music Festival

Starbelly Jam Music Festival Starbelly Jam is a music festival on the east shore of Kootenay Lake. July 9-11, 2027 It’s a real family festival!

Starbelly Jam is an annual outdoor music festival held in Crawford Bay, BC July 5-7. Our choice of music and other entertainment is soulfully eclectic, and this year will include funk, world music, rock, hip-hop, reggae, blues, bluegrass, folk, pop, electronica, and other acts that are a little harder to define. We also have entertainment and activities for children (who get in free if they are under age 13 and with an adult). Add a great selection of on-site food, a craft fair, free workshops, roaming jugglers and clowns, and more, and we have the cultural event of the year in our area. Join us for a weekend of great entertainment, a safe place for kids, and a relaxed festival atmosphere.

ARTIST FEATURE!! 🍀🪗🎼

The Bill Lynch Trio is back to Starbelly! The Trio performs Bill’s original music from his first CD, Would You Speak on My Behalf, and from the new collection The Street of The Moon.

Bill’s original songs are renowned for their diverse influences and the poignant, elegant poetry of his lyrics. Bill’s musical influences range from Blues and Folk to Latin, Irish and Balkan. His songs express his conviction that that there are real things within us that can carry us through hard times – things like memory and music and stories and love. He is sure that we have the tools within us to even for a moment to heal this broken world. Bill invites us into a deeply felt world with his Irish gift of storytelling, his passionate vocals and beautiful guitar work.

Bessie Wapp transforms the trio’s palette with haunting vocal harmonies and musically intriguing accordion accompaniment. Bessie is well known throughout BC as a musician, theatre artist, educator and former Nelson Cultural Ambassador.

The stand-up bass becomes an instrument of striking eloquence in the hands of the consummate musician, Mark Spielman whose professional music career extends back 30 years at venues throughout North America and Germany. He is renowned in the
Kootenays as a versatile bass player and instructor with the Selkirk College Music Program.

Our final sponsorship thank you (but certainly not our least!) goes out to two amazing community supporters: Nelson Brewing Company and Creston Pealow’s grocery . 🌟🧡🧡🌟

Their generous support helps keep the music flowing and brings our community together. We're so grateful to have local businesses like these helping make this event possible.

Please join us in thanking them and all the 2026 Starbelly sponsors for their incredible support! Bring on the music!!!!! 🎤🥁🎸🎻
