Making these adorable spelling poppits. Just finished this one today!

Each poppit is created to hold an intention, a goal, or something you are moving through.

It comes with jute rope for you to knot. Every knot is tied with focus, representing a step, a release, or mini goal... anything you want it to be.

Wrap the rope around the doll to contain and hold that intention.

Each day, you unwrap and cut the section of jute rope. Set it aside in a special place. This will be the act of release, of movement, of you doing the work... a visible representation.

When the doll is fully unwrapped, gather the rope and hold a burning ceremony!

As you can see I really struggled with making dark colors light, its something that will just take more practice and playing around with. And the light source 🤪

I just finished color blocking! New words! This has been an interesting project. I think I am ready to start acrylic palette painting, which I have NEVER done before. I got super anxious, so I stopped for the day lol
I ended up doing this rooster on a smaller canvas than what was recommended, but I didn't want a GIGANTIC rooster lol, this is already an 11x14 and that is as big as a rooster as anyway needs ha ha!

I have been playing around with AI to create gothic portraits of Jon and I. I am also playing around with photo transfer (which I have not done in YEARS). I am excited to see the transfer. I have no idea what I will be doing next with this little project, maybe add some paint? some distressing? Definitely, fun frames will be added at the finish.

I had been taking a painting course at the CFCA, but I ran out of time to work on the rooster section of the course. Ive been plugging away on it home though! It's been a rather interesting project. Apparently I'll be using a palette knife on it eventually!

Jon and I spent a few days hanging out and reorganizing my art studio. Don't mind those chipped stairs, I have a plan for those! It is feeling so cozy with the brick :) I haven't been spending as much time in my space as I would like, so it's been nice getting back into it. As you can see, I have many projects on the go ;)

Last week I had the opportunity to help curate my first two exhibitions and also show my work in one of them!

A BIG shoutout to the incredible artists of Janet Enfield's classes "We Create" and Hannah Shkolny's "Living in The Peace". Absolutely incredible, stunning pieces and it was an honor to hang them. Thank you to the artists and everyone who came out to celebrate the work.

Hanging the shows was a learning experience I won’t forget and I’m incredibly grateful to the people behind the scenes! Whether it was the phone call advice from THE PRO!, a drop in advice on the "Jim Stokes" method, a "I'll do the signs, I am on my way!", a "it's looking great, good job!" to helping with all the name tags and double checking the orientation (whoops!) and to teaching me how to stick vinyl on the wall lol. You all know who you are and I got truly lucky and am forever in awe of the fact that I got to work with the OG's of the CFCA.

Taught "Printmaking" last night with my Northreach Society teens. We had such a blast! They really put alot of effort and thought into their stamps. We are practicing up and are going to try Printmaking on fabric for our next class.
