So I’m working on a website!

It will be a place that will hold a portfolio of the artwork I’ve done over the last number of years (including this commission I did early on 🥰)

My website will also include some of my original artwork I have for sale! Some of the pieces you’ve seen lately, some of my figure drawings, even a little horsie you may be familiar with will be posted on my new website.

My new website will launching in early November, just in time for some Christmas shopping.😉

I can’t wait to show you wha I’m working on.

Amongst my commissions and dream home artwork, I’ve really been feeling the need to play lately. Experiment. Work faster and more relaxed.

I’ve been loving the more sketch style figure drawings I’ve been doing so I thought I’d change the paper up and see how it goes.

I think I’ll name these “The sun burned her bare” and “In a determined manner”.

I think these would look so good framed and on a gallery wall. 😉

Some see an old dog with cataracts, and a lump on his eye. I see the purest love and the reminder of how quickly it can pass.

Give your dog a cuddle and a treat, tell him he’s a good boy, and let his sleep on your lap. Time is too short.

NEW PORTRAIT REVEAL

This is the new style of portrait I just recently started offering, done with water colour and marker.

A lovely lady requested this portrait as a gift for her friend, such a wonderful way to let someone know you are thinking of them. (Granted I’m bias 😏)

NEW PORTRAIT REVEAL

Losing a parent is a thought that genuinely makes my heart ache. Nothing could ever replace them, and I think that’s part of what makes photographs, memories, and portraits so incredibly meaningful.

This is the third commission I’ve had the honour of creating for one of my truly lovely clients. I’ve had a number of people come back to me for a second, third, even fourth portrait. And while being asked to create another piece is an incredible compliment, I think what means the most is knowing they trust me to capture someone who matters deeply to them.

There’s something pretty special about being invited back to help preserve those people and those memories.

Although a lot of what you see on my page is highly detailed portraits of pets and people, my love of drawing was reignited with a Grande Prairie Figure Drawing Club I took at The Centre for Creative Arts about 7 years ago.

I stepped into that room and was welcomed with open arms and the most enthusiastic support I could imagine. My love of drawing came flooding back because of those amazing artists, trusting models, and the accepting vibe. Everyone is welcome. Everyone is good enough.

Today I wanted to show you a little of that side of my Artist heart.

I’m planning to do a lot more of these between breaks on my detailed charcoal work. Maybe you’ll even see the for sale, one day soon. 😉
