I’ve been thinking about how we can use the community we’ve built here to do a little more good.
So we’re starting something new.
Golden Gives!
Christmas is coming, and as exciting as this time of year can be, we know it can also be hard.. Sometimes a family just needs a little boost.
Groceries. Christmas gifts. Winter boots. A kid’s sports registration. Or maybe it’s something previously loved like a snowsuit.
Golden Gives will be an anonymous way for people to privately ask for something they need, without having to share their name, photo or story publicly. Similar to and Angel Tree.
GAC will be contributing and fulfilling requests where we can, and we’d love to see other local businesses and residents jump in too. Maybe that’s a donation, covering a registration, or simply realizing you have exactly what someone is looking for.
We’re kicking it off with THE $20 ART WALL.
Anyone can participate. You do NOT have to be a GAC vendor or a professional artist. Kids, first timers, hobby painters, professionals… everyone is welcome.
Every piece will sell for $20, with the money going into Golden Gives. You can make or create whatever you like and drop it off during regular business hours.
The art wall will go up October 1st!
We’ll also have a community raffle, other ways to contribute, and opportunities to fulfill specific requests directly, coming soon.
And this isn’t just for Christmas.
Christmas just feels like a pretty good time to start.
